Do You Love Me?
Presider: Juanita
Responder: John
Responder: This afternoon we sit in utter amazement as we recall the resurrection, the Christ, and witness that resurrection in earth and spirit. Peter saw Jesus on the shore, leaped out of the boat and swam toward him. Another surprise awaited him. The fire, the fish, and the bread, then after the meal, Jesus’s dialogue with Peter, a dialogue of love and compassion. We mourn with the entire world the loss of Pope Francis, a humble man who sought nothing but to serve the poor and marginalized. We Remember all he has done to open up not only a window, like Pope John XXIII but also the minds and hearts of all Catholics throughout the world

Presider: The readings today fill us with love and peace. Let’s invoke our Creator God who brings compassion, mercy, and peace into our hearts and spirits.
In the name of God our Creator source of all being, our brother Jesus, and Wisdom Sophia.
R: Amen.
Presider: May the presence of our Brother Jesus, the love of God, and the companionship of the Holy Spirit be with you.
R: And also, with you.
Forgiveness Rite:
Presider: We ask for the grace to continually acknowledge our need to grow in goodness, peace, and caring for ourselves and others.
Responder: We accept God’s love and forgiveness for the fragility of our human nature.
Penny: We confess to Almighty God and to each other that we love God.
Mixed into every thought and word, in every action and inaction is a belief that God is there, loving us through my faults, through my successes, and through my stillness. Therefore, I ask blessed Mary, all the Angels and Saints, and each other to pray that none of us ever forgets the love of our gracious God. (adapted by Therese Fisher)
Presider: Opening Prayer:
Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words “division”, “hatred” and "war" be banished from the heart of every man and woman. Jesus, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the words which always brings us together will be “brother” and “sister”, and our way of life will always be that of: Shalom, Peace! (Pope Francis)
From the fire of the Tridium celebrated throughout the world, to our Magdala Community gathered here, we light the fire of a new vision of hospitality to welcome all to the Banquet Table of Infinite Love, as we dance the dance of Spirit embracing all.
Relighting the Easter Candle (Juanita lights the Easter Candle.
Penny: Holy One,
You are the unfaltering
Creator of every light.
We bless this fire in your name,
For you are the light that never fails.
Amen.
I now invite you to light your Easter candle
Pat: As we prepare to celebrate this glorious Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, we open our minds and hearts to hear the Word of God.
R: We take your Word into our minds and hearts, open us to a new understanding.
A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles. Acts 5: 27-32, 40-41 Barbara
The high priest began the interrogation of the apostles in this way: “We gave you strict orders not to teach about that name, yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us responsible for that man’s blood.” To this, Peter and the apostles replied: “Better for us to obey God than people! The God of our ancestors has raised Jesus, whom you put to death by hanging him on a tree. This One who has been exalted at God’s right hand as ruler and savior is to bring repentance to Israel and the forgiveness of sins. We testify to this. So too does the Holy Spirit, who has been given to those who obey God.” The Sanhedrin flogged the apostles then ordered them not to speak again in the name of Jesus, and afterward dismissed them. The apostles, for their part, left the Sanhedrin full of joy that they had been judged worthy to suffer for the sake of the Name.
The Word of our God R: Thanks be to God
Psalm 30 R: I will praise you God for you have rescued me.
Verses:Lucia
I will praise You my Beloved, for You have raised me up and have not let my fears over whelm me. R:
Sing praises to the Beloved, O you saints and give thanks to Love’s Holy Name. R:
Hear, O My Beloved, and be gracious to me, O Love come to my assistance. R:
Our Second Reading is an excerpt from the Easter Address of Pope Francis. Cathy W
I appeal to all those in positions of political responsibility in our world not to yield to the logic of fear which only leads to isolation from others, but rather to use the resources available to help the needy, to fight hunger and to encourage initiatives that promote development. These are the “weapons” of peace: weapons that build the future, instead of sowing seeds of death!
May the principle of humanity never fail to be the hallmark of our daily actions. In the face of the cruelty of conflicts that involve defenseless civilians and attack schools, hospitals and humanitarian workers, we cannot allow ourselves to forget that it is not targets that are struck, but persons, each possessed of a soul and human dignity.
In this Jubilee year, may Easter also be a fitting occasion for the liberation of prisoners of war and political prisoners!
Dear brothers and sisters,
In the Lord’s Paschal Mystery, death and life contended in a stupendous struggle, but the Lord now lives forever (cf. Easter Sequence). He fills us with the certainty that we too are called to share in the life that knows no end, when the clash of arms and the rumble of death will be heard no more. Let us entrust ourselves to him, for he alone can make all things new (cf. Rev. 21:5)!
Happy Easter to everyone!
These are inspired words of Pope Francis, and we affirm them with, Amen.

Our Risen Christ be with You. R: And also, with you.
A reading from today’s scripture according to John 21: 1-19 Juanita
At the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus appeared to the disciples once again. This is how the appearance took place. Assembled were Simon Peter; Thomas, “the twin”; Nathaniel, from Cana in Galilee; Zebedee’s sons; and two other disciples. Simon Peter said to them. “I am going fishing.” “We’ll join you,” they replied, and off they went to get their boat. All through the night they caught nothing. Just before daybreak, Jesus was standing on the shore.
"Though none of the disciples knew it, none of the disciples recognized him." Jesus said to them,” Friends, have you caught nothing to eat?” “Not a thing”, They answered. “Cast your net off to the starboard side,” Jesus suggested, “and you will find something.” So, they made a cast, and took so many fish they could not haul the net in. Then the disciple Jesus loved, cried out to Peter, “It is Jesus!” On hearing who it was, Simon Peter threw on some clothes – he had stripped – and jumped into the water.
Meanwhile the other disciples came in the boat, towing the net full of fish. Actually, they were not far from land, no more than a hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a charcoal fire there with fish laid on it and some bread. “Bring some of the fish you just caught,” Jesus told them. Simon Peter went aboard and hauled ashore the net loaded with sizable fish, one hundred fifty -three of them! In spite of the great number, the net was not torn.
“Come and eat your meal.” Jesus told them. Not one of the disciples presumed to inquire, “Who are you?” for they knew who it was. Jesus came over, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This marked the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples after being raised from the dead.
When they had eaten their meal, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me, more than these?” “YES” Peter said, “You know that I love you.” At which Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
A second time Jesus put his question, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” “YES”, Peter said, “You know that I love you.” Jesus replied, “Tend my sheep.”
A third time Jesus asked, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because he had asked a third time, “Do you love me?” So, he said: “You know everything. You know well that I love you.” Jesus told him, “Feed my sheep. I tell you solemnly: when you were younger you fastened your belt and went about as you pleased; but when you are older, you will stretch out your hands, and another will tie you fast and carry you off against your will.”
What Jesus said indicated the sort of death by which Peter was to glorify God. When Jesus had finished speaking, he addressed Peter, “Follow me.”
The Good News of Salvation! R: Glory and praise to our Savior Jesus Christ
Homily: Juanita
Statement of Faith: Patti/JCee
We believe in God, who is boundless love; God, who is the Creator of heaven and earth, and the entire universe, with all its mysteries.
We believe in Jesus the Christ, the beloved son of God, whom God has willed to share our history and our existence, with us.
We believe, that even though Jesus was
nailed to the cross, died, and was buried, the darkness did not overcome him. He is risen once and for all.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
who is the eternal giver of life,
empowerment, and inspiration.
We believe that we are all on a journey,
called and gathered to be
God’s holy people, actively seeking
justice and equality for everyone.
We believe in eternal life,
in love that is stronger than death,
in a new heaven and a new earth,
with glory to God and peace for all.
SIGN OF PEACE: John
Christ Jesus, you said to your friends: I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not on our failings, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kin-dom where you live for ever and ever.
Amen.
The peace of Christ be always with you.
R: And also, with you.
Let us offer each other a sign of Christ’s peace.
Prayer Intentions: Lucia
As we prepare for this sacred meal, we are aware of our call to serve, and just as Jesus is anointed, so is each of us. We bring to this table our prayers for the community. Please share your blessing, cares, and concerns starting with the words, “ I bring to the table…”
We pray for these and all the unspoken intentions held in the silence of our hearts. Amen
Judy: Blessed are you, God of all creation, for through your goodness
We have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, It will become for us the bread of life.
R: Blessed be God forever.
Presider: By the mystery of this water and wine may we come to share in the divinity of Christ, who shared himself in our humanity.
Pat: Blessed are you God of all creation, through your goodness
We have received this wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.
All: Blessed be God forever.
Penny: With humble spirit and loving hearts may you, O God, accept us and may the offering that we bring to this altar be pleasing to you.
Presider: Pray, brothers and sisters, that this offering of bread and wine be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
R: May the Lord accept this offering at your hands, For the praise and glory of God’s name, For our good, and the good of all God’s holy Church.
Prayer over the gifts
Judy: Loving God through faith and baptism we have become a new creation. Accept our offerings of bread and wine gifts from your people especially all those who are suffering.
Preface
Presider: May the Risen Christ be with you! R: And also with you
Presider: Lift up your hearts and rejoice! R: We lift them up to our God
Presider: Let us give thanks to our God! R: It is right to give God thanks and praise.
Ma Donna: Blessed are you, God of Resurrection. We have kept the holy days in oneness with you and one another. We now surround your table of Grace to be nourished by the holy and everlasting mystery of your sacred meal.
Kathy N: We praise you, God of Mystery. Your word imbues life and breath into the void, and into the entire cosmos. You call us to continue this work of creation. The universe is filled with the splendor of the One who loves so freely, and renews life again and again.
Linda: We praise you God of Life. We thank you for the perpetual ages of gathering stars and shifting earth, of life ever evolving, of the creatures with whom we share this world, and the richness they reveal. We meet these miracles with waking eyes of wonder.
Barbara: We praise you God of Mercy. In Jesus we learned that dying to self in Christ, is living in truth with Christ. On the cross Jesus joins the labor of all creation’s yearnings. Yet, death could not confine him. His acceptance of death broke death’s fearful hold.
Therefore, with people of all faiths in every part of the world, by the miracle of the empty tomb at dawn, we join with all of heaven as we sing:

Gina: Creator God, You are indeed Holy and to be glorified. You who love the human race and who always walk with us on our journey of life. Blessed indeed is your Son, present in our midst when we are gathered together by His love and when, as once for the disciples, so now for us, Jesus opens the scriptures and breaks the bread.
Presider: We extend our hands over our bread and wine.
Come Holy Spirit: Be intensified in these our gifts, so that this bread and wine becomes the Body + and Blood + of Jesus the Christ for the world.
Penny: As we lift our bread, we remember that, on the night before he died, Jesus took bread and gave God thanks and praise. He broke the bread and gave it to his friends, saying:
All:
“Take and eat, this is my Body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
Kathy N: As we lift our cup, we remember how at the end of the meal, Jesus lifted the cup; he blessed and praised God, and shared the cup with his friends, saying:
All: “This is the cup of the New Covenant of my Love, poured out for you. As often as you drink of it, remember me.”
Juanita: Great is the Mystery of our Faith:
Christ has died, Alleluia!
Christ is risen, Alleluia!
Christ will come again, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Lucia: We praise you, God of Miracles. Raised to new life, Jesus appears to the women who held vigil at the tomb. In the days that follow, he appears to his friends along the road, and at the lakeside. In the breaking of the bread, he reveals himself among us. In each new day, in our comings and our goings, he is with us. When we lie down at night, and when we rise at dawn, he calls us to take up his work of love and justice, and to walk in truth and compassion with him.
Rita: We praise you, God of New Life. May we ever rejoice in the grace of your resurrection that binds all people, all religions, all cultures as one. May we do our part, so that the promise of spiritual transformation be completed in us. We thank you for those who have died and gone before us; our family, our friends and those who have inspired us. We call them by name: (pause) We trust in your mercy and love, as you welcome them into your everlasting joy and peace.
Presider:
Blessed are you, Wondrous God. May your grace awaken our inner conversion, that we may see the evolving beauty of all creation. Gather us together from all the corners of the earth to share at your Table of Grace. We long to be one in spirit with you, and with one another.
May we know that together we are your body and we are your blood infusing new life into the world.
Let us proclaim our praise and thanksgiving:
Juanita:
Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, Loving God, forever and ever.
Kathy N: We praise you, God of Miracles. Raised to new life, Jesus appears to the women who held vigil at the tomb. In each new day, in our comings and our goings, he is with us. When we lie down at night, and when we rise at dawn, he calls us to take up his work of love and justice, and to walk in truth and compassion with him.
John: We praise you, God of New Life. May we ever rejoice in
the grace of your resurrection that binds all people, all religions, all cultures as one. May we do our part, so that the promise of spiritual transformation be completed in us. We thank you for those who have died and gone before us; our family, our friends and those who have inspired us. We call them by name: (pause)
We trust in your mercy and love, as you welcome them into your
everlasting joy and peace.
The Prayer of Jesus
Presider: Inspired by Jesus the Christ, who taught us the way of love,
we now pray: Eternal God, source of all that is, and shall be,
Father and Mother of us all, The hallowing of your name echoes
throughout the universe! May we follow the way of your justice
May your will be carried out by all; And, may your peace and freedom sustain our hope in the world. With the bread we need for today, feed us. In the hurts we cause toward one another, forgive us.
In times of temptation and test, strengthen us.
From trials too great to endure, spare us. From the grip of all that is evil, free us. For you reign in the glory of the power that is love, now and forever. Amen
(adapted from the Maori Culture of New Zealand!)
Penny: We raise our bread and wine together:
All: May the lavish, welcome of the Creator accept us for who we are. May the incarnation of the Word touch and hold us close May the birth of the Spirit within help us risk ourselves for love.
Presider: As we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim: This is the Body and Blood of Christ.
ALL: We are the Body and Blood of Christ for the world.
Presider: Let us receive as one.
