Opening Prayer:
Creator God, You are the road we follow and the destination of our journey. With grace as our walking stick, may we discover your love and healing along the way. By the compassion and peace, we are able to offer, may we cast out demons of fear, estrangement and injustice; may we become seeds of your peace and grace in our homes, schools, and workplaces.
Galen: As we prepare to celebrate this glorious Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, we open our minds and hearts to hear the Word of God.
LITURGY OF THE WORD
A reading from the writings of Fr. John Dear Cathy P
“The mission of work and peace are really needed today. We seem to speak only the language of war and violence, even in our day-to-day relationships and encounters… Each one of us can do our part to change this direction by taking up Jesus’s campaign of nonviolence, adopting his language of peace and nonviolence, and practicing his peace so that our very presence is disarming and healing. Wherever we go, we can talk about God’s reign of peace, help people step into God’s reign of nonviolence, and work for a new culture without war, poverty, racism, or violence. We can spend our lives living his mission.”
These are the words of Fr. John Dear, taken from his book The Gospel of Peace. We affirm them by saying: AMEN
Psalm 66 John
Response: Let all the earth cry out to God with joy
Verses: Sing a joyful song to the Beloved all the earth, and praise Love’s name: Sing with glorious exultation! We say yes to You; How magnificent are your ways: So great is your power that fear and doubt vanish before You.
Blessed be the Holy Name of the Beloved, Loving Companion Presence, who has embraced me, and renewed my life. Response
(Psalms for Praying- Nan C. Merrill)
A reading from the letter of Paul to the Galatians 6: 14-18 Kathy N.
May I never boast of anything but the cross of our Savior Jesus Christ! Through it the world has been crucified to me and I to the world. It means nothing whether one bothers with the “eternals” of religion or not. All that matters is that one is created anew. Peace and mercy on all who follow this rule of life, and on the Israel of God. Henceforth, let no one trouble me, for I bear the brand-marks of Jesus in my body. Sisters and brother, may the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ be with you.

Our God of Love and peace be with you. R: and also, with you
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke 10: 1-12, 17-20
After this, Jesus appointed a further seventy-two and sent them in pairs in advance to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them: The harvest is rich but the workers are few; therefore, ask the overseer to send workers to the harvest. Be on your way, and remember: I am sending you as lambs in the midst of wolves. Do not carry a walking stick or traveling bag; wear no sandals and greet no one on the way. On entering any house, first say, “peace to this house.” If they are peaceable there, your peace will rest on them; if not it will come back to you. Stay in the one house, eating and drinking what they have, for the laborer is worth a wage. Do not move from one house to another.
“Into whatever city you go, after they welcome you, eat what they set before you and cure the sick there. Say to them, “The reign of God is at hand.” If the people of any town you enter do not welcome you, go into the streets and say, “We shake off the dust of this town from our feet as testimony against you. But know that the reign of God is nearby. I assure you, on that day the fate of Sodom will be less severe than that of such a town.
The seventy-two returned in jubilation saying, “Teacher, even the demons are subject to us in your name.” Jesus said in reply,” I have watched Satan fall from the sky like lightening. See what I have done; I have given you power to tread on snakes and scorpions and all the forces of the enemy and nothing will ever injure you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice so much in the fact that the devils are subject to you as your names are inscribes in heaven.
The Good News of Salvation! R: Glory and praise to our Saviors Jesus the Christ!
Homily: Juanita

We believe in God, the creator of the universe whose divinity infuses all that exists, making everything everywhere sacred.
We believe in Jesus, the Christ who leads us to the fullness of humanity. Through him we become a new people, called beyond the consequences of our brokenness.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Wisdom who keeps the Christ-vision present to all who are searching for meaning and wholeness in their lives – and the Sustainer who heals and energizes us when our spirits may grow weary in our journeys.
We say: Amen to courage, to hope, and to truth. We say: Amen to the partnership and equality of all people of different genders, races, and faiths. We believe in a world of justice and peace for everyone, everywhere, with no exceptions. In all of this, we surely believe. Amen.

Jesus Prayer:
Janet: ARAMAIC LORD’S PRAYER
O Cosmic Birther of all radiance and vibration!
Soften the ground of our being
and carve out a space within us
where your presence can abide.
Fill us with your creativity
so that we may be empowered
to bear the fruit of your mission.
Let each of our actions bear fruit
in accordance with your desire.
Endow us with the wisdom.
to produce and share what each being needs
to grow and flourish.
Untie the tangled threads of destiny that bind us,
as we release others from the entanglement of past mistakes.
Do not let us be seduced
by that which would divert us from our true purpose,
but illuminate the opportunities of the present moment.
For you are the ground and fruitful vision,
the birth, power and fulfillment,
as all is gathered and made whole once again.
Amen.
