Karla: Opening Prayer
Loving God, open our eyes to recognize You in one
another; open our hands to reach out to others in
peace and generosity; open our hearts to welcome to
our tables and hearths all women and men as
our sisters and brothers, your daughters and sons.
In Jesus’ name we pray, R] Amen
Gerry:As we begin the Liturgy of the Word let us open our
hearts to ways scripture might speak to us.
A reading from the book of Deuteronomy: Barbara
Moses said to the Israelites: “Obey Adonai, your God,
and keep the commandments and decrees that are
written in this Book of the Law and return to the Most
High with all your heart and soul.
“For this Law that I give to you today is not too
difficult for you, nor is it beyond your reach. It is not
up in the heavens, so that you need
to ask yourself ‘Who will go up to the heavens for us
and bring it down to us, so that we may hear it and
keep it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you need to
wonder, “Who will cross the sea for us and bring it
back to us, so that we may hear it and keep it?’ No,
the Word of God is very near to you; it is in your
mouth and in your heart, so that you may keep it.
The Word of God. R] Thanks be to God.
Responsorial psalm (Verses)Gerry
Response: Turn to God in your need and you will live.
1. I pray to you for the time of Your favor, O God! In your kindness, answer me with your help.
2. I am afflicted and in pain, let your saving help protect me.
3. You lowly ones be glad; you who seek God, may
yyour hearts be merry! For God hears the poor and those in bondage.
4. God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah.
The descendants of God’s servants will inherit it, and
those who love God’s name will inhabit it.
Second Reading Cathy W.
A reading from the letter to the Colossians
Christ is the image of the unseen God and the
firstborn of all creation. For in Christ were created all
things in the heavens and on Earth.
Everything visible and invisible, Thrones, Dominations,
Sovereignties, Powers — all things were created
through Christ and for Christ.
Before anything was created, Christ existed, and all
things hold together in Christ. The Church is the
body; Christ is its head.
Christ is the Beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
and so Christ is first in every way. God wanted all
perfection to be found in Christ,
and all things to be reconciled to God through Christ
— everything
in the heavens and everything on Earth — when
Christ made peace by dying on the cross.
The Word of God. R. Thanks be to God!

Gospel Presider
A reading from the Gospel according to Luke
An expert on the Law stood up to put Jesus to the test
and said, "Teacher, what must I do to inherit
everlasting life?" Jesus answered,
"What is written in the Law? How do you read it?"
The lawyer replied: "You will love the Most High God
with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your
strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as
yourself." Jesus said, "You have answered correctly. Do
this and you will live. But the expert on the Law,
seeking self-justification, pressed Jesus further:
"And just who is my neighbor?" Jesus replied: "There
was a traveler going down from Jerusalem to Jericho,
who fell prey to robbers. The traveler was beaten,
stripped, and left half-dead. A priest happened to be
going down the same road; the priest saw the
traveler lying beside the road but passed by on the
other side.
Likewise, there was a Levite who came the same way;
this one, too, saw the afflicted traveler and passed by
on the other side.
"But a Samaritan, who was taking the same road, also
came upon the traveler, and, filled with compassion,
approached the traveler and dressed the wounds,
pouring on oil and wine. Then the Samaritan put the
wounded person on a donkey, went straight to an inn
and there took care of the injured one. The next day
the Samaritan took out two silver pieces and gave
them to the innkeeper with the request: 'Look after
this person, and if there is any further expense, I will
repay you on the way back.'
"Which of these three, in your opinion, was the
neighbor to the traveler who fell in with the robbers?"
The answer came, "The one who showed compassion."
Jesus replied, "Then go and do the same.”
The Good News of Jesus, the Christ! R] Praise to
you, Lord Jesus Christ!

beyond all definition and rational understanding,
the heart of all that has ever existed,
that exists now, or that ever will exist.
Pat: We believe in Jesus, messenger of the Divine Word,
bringer of healing, heart of Divine compassion,
bright star in the firmament of the Holy One's
prophets, mystics, and saints.
Linda We believe that We are called to follow Jesus
as a vehicle of divine love,
a source of wisdom and truth,
and an instrument of peace in the world.
John: believe in the Spirit of the Holy One, the life that is our innermost life, the breath moving in our being, the depth living in each of us.
Judy: We believe that the Divine kin-dom is here and
now, stretched out all around us for those with eyes
to see it, hearts to receive it, and hands to make it
happen.
Greeting of Peace
Juanita: Jesus the Christ, you said to your disciples,
“My peace I leave you.
My peace I give you.” We ask you to look on the faith of
those gathered here. Give us your peace, and spread
your peace throughout the world, always and
forever. May the peace of Christ be always
with you. R] And also with you
Introduction to petitions
Karla:
With faith in God’s desire to work with us in the building
of God’ reign on Earth we bring our prayers: For what
or whom shall we pray?
(At conclusion of petitions)
Lucia: Most loving God, please hear and answer the
prayers we have brought before you, as well as those
which remain in our hearts, unspoken. We also pray
for those who have no one else to pray for
them, and we do this in Jesus’ name. Amen
Offertory:
Janet: Blessed are you, God of all creation! Through
your goodness we have this bread to offer. Fruit of the
Earth, work of human hands, it will become for us the
bread of life.
R] Blessed be God forever
Galen: Blessed are you, God of all creation!
Through your goodness we have this wine to offer.
Fruit of the vine, work of human hands, it will
become for us the cup of life.
R] Blessed be God forever
Nick: Pray sisters and brothers that our offering may
be acceptable to our loving God.
R] May God accept this offering from our hands
for the praise and glory of God’s name. For our good
and the good of all God’s people.
LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
Presider: God of surprising grace and ever-expanding
love, we gather as your people— startled again
by the mystery of resurrection, drawn not by certainty,
but by hope that the story is not over.
Like those who walked the road to Jerusalem we
come burdened, questioning our hearts aching with the
weight of the world.
But you meet us on the way— in bread broken, in
stories retold, in strangers who become companions.
And so, with all who dare to believe that death is not
the final word— with those who doubt and
those who dance, with saints, seekers, prophets, and
poets—
we sing the song of liberation:
Holy, Holy: Here in This Place by Christopher Grundy

Pat: With open hands and hearts let us pray our
Eucharistic Prayer together:
Marita: O Holy One you have sent prophets and
messengers to show us the way-Abraham, Sarah
and Hagar, Moses and Jesus, Buddha and Mohammad,
Hildegard and Teresa, Oscar and Dorothy, and all of us
here and now who celebrate this liturgy today.
Everything we do, we do together with You. We cannot
be without You. We cannot be without each other. You
are made visible in this
world with our acts of love and kindness.
Gina: Blessed are you, O Eternal Love, and blessed is
Jesus, the Anointed One. Through his life, death, and
resurrection, he revealed the depth of your love and
called us to follow in his way. As we gather at this
table, we offer ourselves anew as instruments of your
peace and love. Through Jesus, You have shown us the
divine blueprint of love, calling us not to escape this
world, but to inhabit it more deeply.
P: Please extend your hands over your gifts.
Presider: We are ever aware of your Spirit in us and
among us at this Eucharistic table and we are grateful
for this + bread and wine which reminds us of our call
to be the body of Christ in the world.
On the night before he faced his own death and for the
sake of living fully, Jesus sat at supper with his
companions and friends. He reminded them of all that
he taught them, and to fix that memory clearly within
them, he bent down and washed their feet.
(lift plate)
When he returned to his place at the table, he lifted the
Passover bread, spoke the blessing, broke the bread
and offered it to them saying:
All: Take and eat; this is my very self.
(lift cup)
He then raised high the cup of the covenant, spoke the
grace, and offered it to them saying:
All: Take and drink, this is the cup of the new and eternal
covenant. Whenever you remember me like this, I am among you.
Patti:Divine Spirit, may we ever be aware and alert to
the new things. Your Spirit makes possible in us, as our
world unfolds amid pain and beauty, into the fullness of
life to which all are called, participating in
the wise and wonderful work of co-creation.
Like Jesus, we will open wide all that has been
closed about us, and we will live compassionate lives,
for it is through living as Jesus lived, that we awaken to
your Spirit within, moving us to glorify You, at this time
and all ways. R] Amen.
Let us pray as Jesus taught us: Jay Cee
(a Celtic adaptation of the Prayer of Jesus by John Philip Newell)
O Holy One beyond all names,
Eternal Wellspring
May Love again rise in us today
With food for every table
Shelter for every family
And reverence for every life.
Forgive us our failings in love
And free us from all falseness
That the light of our souls my shine
And the strengths of our spirits endure
For Earth and all its people
This day, tonight, and forever. R] Amen
Communion:
Juanita: What we have heard with our ears, we will
live with our lives. As we share communion, we
will become communion. We are the body of Christ.

Blessing
Presider: Please raise your hands over one another as we pray for
God's blessing:
May you meet the Risen One in the ordinary, the humble, the
everyday.
May your hearts be filled with wonder and stirred by the Spirit, and
your tables wide enough for for all who hunger.
Go now to tend to the world with tenderness, to speak truth with
courage, and to follow the Risen One in all things with hearts open
to surprise,
and lives grounded in grace. R] Amen
Dismissal: Karla R] Thanks be to God!
