Responder: Kathy N.

As the St. Andrew Daily Missal explains, "The feast of the Holy Trinity owes its origin to the fact that the ordinations of the Ember Saturday, which took place in the evening, were prolonged to the next day, which was Sunday and had no proper Mass at that date ... [a votive Mass of the Holy Trinity] was celebrated in some places on this Sunday; and since it occupied a fixed place in the liturgical calendar, this Mass was considered as establishing this Sunday as a special feast of the Blessed Trinity."

Opening Prayer to the Holy Trinity Christine

Glory be to Abba, Who by His almighty power and love created me, making me in the image and likeness of God.

Glory be to the Son, Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from doubt, and opened for me the gates of heaven.

Glory be to the Wisdom Spirit, Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism, and continues to strengthen me by the graces

Glory be to the Three Persons of the Holy Trinity, now and forever. Amen

Communal Reconciliation Rite: Penny

We pause now to remember the times we have let false messages about our unworthiness cloud our vision of the infinite depth of the love within us.  Now imagine the imperfections, chaos and messes of your life illuminated by a love within you that is healing and transforming you as you evolve and grow in awareness of your divinity and humanity.(Pause briefly. Then extend hands over your heart)

All: I love you, I forgive you, I am sorry, I thank you.

Opening Prayer for Fathers  John

Abba God,

Bless these men,

that they may find strength as fathers.

Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.

Grant that we, their sons and daughters,

may honor them always.

The Readings

First Reading: Lucia
A reading from the book of Proverbs.
Wisdom says this: YHWH gave birth to me at the beginning, before the first acts of creation.  I have been from everlasting, in the beginning, before the world began. Before the deep seas, I was brought forth, before there were fountains or springs of water before the mountains erupted up into place, before the hills, I was born —before YHWH created the earth or its fields, or even the first clods of dirt.
I was there when the Almighty created the heavens, and set the horizon just above the ocean, set the clouds in the sky, and established the springs of the deep, gave the seas their boundaries and set their limits at the shoreline. When the foundation of the earth was laid out, I was the skilled artisan standing next to the I was YHWH’s delight day after day, rejoicing at being in YHWH’s presence continuously rejoicing in the whole world and delighting in humankind.
The Word of God.            R. Thanks be to God.

Psalm 8 Linda

When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

The moon and stars, which You set in place,

Who are we that You should be mindful of us, / that You should care for us?

How wonderful is Your Name, O God, through all the earth!

You have made us little less than the gods / and crowned us with glory and honor.

You have given us rule over the works of Your hands, / putting all things under our feet.

How wonderful is Your Name, O God, through all the earth!

All sheep and oxen, / yes, and the beasts of the field.

The birds of the air, the fishes of the sea / and whatever swims the paths of the seas.

How wonderful is Your Name, O God, through all the earth!

Second Reading  Gerry

A reading from the letter of Paul to the Romans

Now since we have been made right in God’s sight by our faith, we are at peace with God through our Savior Jesus Christ. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us to the grace in which we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to the day on which we will become all that God has intended.

But not only that, we rejoice in our afflictions!  We know perseverance; and character; and character does not disappoint, because God has been poured out in our hearts through the Spirit  Shopia, who has been given to us.

The Word of God. R. Thanks be to God.

Gospel Accumulation  (Marita)

ALLELUIA!
When I behold your heavens, the work of your hands,
the moon and stars which you set in place —
who are we that you should be mindful of us!
ALLELUIA!

Karla: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.

Jesus said to the disciples, I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear to hear it now.

When the Spirit of truth comes, Spirit Sophia will guide you into all truth. She will not speak on her own initiative, rather, she will speak only what she hears, and she will announce to you things that are yet to come.

In doing this, the Spirit will give glory to me, for she will take what is mine and reveal it to you.  Everything that Abba God has belongs to me.  This is why I said that the Spirit will take what is mine and reveal it to you.

The Good News of Salvation!

R. Glory and praise to our Savior Jesus Christ!

Homily

Statement of Faith: Patti and Jaycee alternate verses

We believe in the Holy One, a divine mystery beyond all definition and rational understanding, the heart of all that has ever existed, that exists now, or that ever will exist.

We believe in Jesus, messenger of the Divine Word, bringer of healing, heart of Divine compassion, bright star in the firmament of the Holy One's prophets, mystics, and saints.

We believe that We are called to follow Jesus as a vehicle of divine love, a source of wisdom and truth, and an instrument of peace in the world.

We believe in the Spirit of the Holy One,
the life that is our innermost life,
the breath moving in our being,
the depth living in each of us.

We believe that the Divine kin-dom is here and now, stretched out all around us for those with eyes to see it, hearts to receive it, and hands to make it happen.

SIGN OF PEACE: Cathy W.

Christ Jesus, you said to your friends: I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not on our failings, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kin-dom where you live for ever and ever. Amen.

The peace of Christ be always with you.

R:  And also with you.

Let us offer each other a sign of Christ’s peace.

Prayer Intentions: Judy

As we prepare for this sacred meal, we are aware of our call to serve, and just as Jesus is anointed, so is each of us.  We bring to this table our prayers for the community.  Please share your blessings, cares, and concerns starting with the words, “I bring to the table…”,  When the intention has been said please respond "Loving Tribune, hear our prayer."

We pray for these and all the unspoken intentions held in the silence of our hearts. Amen.

Karla:

Our table has been prepared, and all are welcome to it.

Jay Cee:  Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.

R:  Blessed be God forever.

Patti:   Blessed are you God of all creation, through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.

R:  Blessed be God forever.  Holy One, accept these gifts from our hands, for the praise and glory of your name, for our good and the good of all your kin-dom.

Karla: With open hands and hearts, let us pray together our Eucharistic prayer:

Our God be with you.

R: And also with you

Lift up your hearts.

R: We lift them our God

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God

R: It is right and just

Linda:

O Heart of Love, Your Spirit moves through us that we are unified and undivided and in continuous communion with you.  Your Spirit moves through the love within us, expanding out in widening circles to embrace all people and creation in our evolving universe.

Please extend Your hands in blessing.

Karen:

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might,

heaven and earth are full of your glory.

Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord.

Hosanna in the highest.

Christine:

You are indeed holy and to be glorified O God, you who love the human race and always walk with us on our journey of life.  Blessed indeed is your Son, present in our midst when we are gathered by his love and when, as once for the disciples, so now for each one of us, Jesus opens the scriptures and breaks the bread.

Epiclesis

Karla:

Everyone extent your hands over your gifts of bread and wine.

We invoke Your Spirit upon the gifts of this Eucharistic table, bread of the grain and wine of the grape, that they may become gifts of wisdom+light and truth.

Lift Up Your Bread

On the night Jesus was betrayed, He took the bread, and gave thanks.  He blessed it, broke it, and gave it to his friends and to us saying:

All: Take this all of you and eat. This is my body, which will be given up for you.

Lift Up Your Cup

When the supper was ended, he took the cup.  Again, he gave thanks and praise, gave the cup to his friends and said:

All:Take this, all of you, and drink from it. This is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant.  Do this in memory of me.

Let us proclaim the mystery of faith:

Cathy W.

Christ has died in all those who have passed away from violent

hate crimes.

Christ is rising in all those working for the well-being of humanity.

Christ comes each day in our ministry, prayers and actions for a renewed world with justice and equality for all.

Kathy N.

For it is through living as Jesus lived, and loving as he loved, that we awaken to Your Spirit empowering us to work for justice and equality for all citizens in our country and for the life of your planet Earth. Amen

John:

Let us pray as Jesus taught us:

(a Celtic adaptation of the Prayer of Jesus by John Philip Newell)

O Holy One beyond all names,

Eternal Wellspring

May Love rise again in us today

With food for every table

Shelter for every family

And reverence for every life.

Forgive us our failings in love

And free us from all falseness

That the light of our souls may shine

And the strengths of our spirits endure

For Earth and all its people

This day, tonight, and forever.

Amen

Karla:This is the bread of life and the cup of blessing. Blessed are we who are called to Christ’s table.

R: We are humbled by your gifts of life.

And now we will partake of the Body and Blood of Jesus.
