Responses: Cathy W.
Cathy W: Welcome, beloved community, to this sacred gathering where we journey together in the light of resurrection and renewal. As we reflect on the Gospel of John, we are invited to witness the transformative power of grace and the call to a loving, inclusive community.

Relighting the Easter Candle
As Juanita lights the Easter Candle., I invite you to light your Easter candles.
Penny: Holy One,
You are the unfaltering
Creator of every light.
We bless this fire in your name,
For you are the light that never fails.
Amen.
Presider: We ask for the grace to continually acknowledge our need to grow in goodness, peace, and caring for ourselves and others.
Responder: We accept God’s love and forgiveness for the fragility of our human nature.
Barbara: We confess to Almighty God and to each other that we love God. Mixed into every thought and word, in every action and inaction is a belief that God is there, loving us through my faults, through my successes, and through my stillness. Therefore, I ask blessed Mary, all the Angels and Saints, and each other to pray that none of us ever forgets the love of our gracious God. (adapted by Therese Fisher)
Opening Prayer
Penny: As we share our time together in prayer and reflection, may we be inspired by the gentle, courageous invitation to love unconditionally. Let us open our hearts to the healing and restoration found in the presence of the Divine, and may we extend that same love to one another in all our diversity. In Jesus’ name we pray, R] Amen
Judy: As we prepare to celebrate this glorious Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, we open our minds and hearts to hear the Word of God.
"Many times, Pope Francis has spoken about love and what is required of all 'Christians. He stresses that love is not a theory, but a way of life.
Pope Francis often uses the image of watching from a balcony as a warning: 'Do I as a Catholic watch from my balcony? No, you can't watch from the balcony. Get right in there,' he instructs. Pope Francis repeats his call to young people to not live life 'standing on a balcony watching life go by,' avoiding getting involved and getting their hands dirty. He also preaches, 'Every community will be a better place if there are no people who watch it from afar, like a picture postcard, who observe life only from the balcony without getting involved.' Isn't it fitting to this ongoing message that Pope Francis, during his last public appearance, wasn't just willing to address the crowd from his balcony?
Even in his frailty and obvious discomfort, Pope Francis chose to ride in his Popemobile to be among and touch those gathered to see and hear from him. Just as we heard Peter called into action last week, so, too, must we follow Jesus' instruction to action and to 'Follow me.'
"Love is not a theory-Live it!"
A reflection by Sinsinawa Dominican Associate Karen Anderson and we affirm it by saying, R Amen
A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles Cathy P.
Paul and Barnabas continued to travel on from Perga and came to Antioch in Pisidia.
On the Sabbath day they entered the synagogue and sat down.
When the synagogue service had broken up, many Jewish worshipers and God-fearing converts to Judaism joined Paul and Barnabas. In their talks, Paul and Barnabas urged them to continue in the grace of God.
On the next Sabbath, almost the entire city gathered to hear God's word. When the leaders of the synagogue saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict everything Paul said and to revile him.
Nonetheless Paul and Barnabas spoke out fearlessly: "We had to proclaim the word of God to you first, but because you have

rejected it — because you do not think yourselves worthy of eternal life — we now turn to the Gentiles. For this is what Christ instructed us to do:
I have made you a light for the nations, so that my salvation may reach the ends of the earth.'" It made the Gentiles very happy to hear this, and they thanked God for the message. All who were destined for eternal life became believers. Thus the word of God was carried throughout that area.

A Reading from the Holy gospel according to John
Jesus said:
My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never be lost. No one will ever snatch them out of my hand. Gpd who gave them to me, is greater than anyone, and no one can steal them from God. For God and I are one.
The Gospel of Jesus the Christ! R] Glory and praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
Rita: God of surprising grace and ever-expanding love,
we gather as your Easter people—
startled again by the mystery of resurrection,
drawn not by certainty,
but by hope that the story is not over.
Like those who walked the road to Emmaus,
we come burdened, questioning,
our hearts aching with the weight of the world.
But you meet us on the way—
in bread broken, in stories retold,
in strangers who become companions.
And so, with all who dare to believe
that death is not the final word—
with those who doubt and those who dance,
with saints, seekers, prophets, and poets—
we sing the song of liberation:

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
With open hands and hearts let us pray our Eucharistic Prayer together:
Marita: O Holy One you have sent prophets and messengers to show us the way-Abraham, Sarah and Hagar, Moses and Jesus, Buddha and Mohammad, Hildegard and Teresa, Oscar and Dorothy, and all of us here and now who celebrate this liturgy today.
Everything we do, we do together with You. We cannot be without You. We cannot be without each other. You are made visible in this world with our acts of love and kindness.
Gerry: Blessed are you, O Eternal Love, and blessed is Jesus, the Anointed One. Through his life, death, and resurrection, he revealed the depth of your love and called us to follow in his way. As we gather at this table, we offer ourselves anew as instruments of your peace and love.
Please extend your hands in blessing.
Penny:We are ever aware of your Spirit in us and among us at this Eucharistic table and we are grateful for this bread and wine which reminds us of our call to be the body of Christ in the world.
Through Jesus, You have shown us the divine blueprint of love,
calling us not to escape this world, but to inhabit it more deeply.
On the night before he faced his own death and for the sake of living fully, Jesus sat at supper with his companions and friends. He reminded them of all that he taught them, and to fix that memory clearly within them, he bent down and washed their feet.
(lift plate)
When he returned to his place at the table, he lifted the Passover bread, spoke the blessing, broke the bread and offered it to them saying:
Take and eat; this is my very self.
(lift cup)
He then raised high the cup of the covenant, spoke the grace, and offered it to them saying:
Take and drink, this is the cup of the new covenant in me.
Whenever you remember me like this, I am among you.
Patti: Divine Spirit, may we ever be aware and alert to the new things Your Spirit makes possible in us, as our world unfolds amid pain and beauty, into the fullness of life to which all are called, participating in the wise and wonderful work of co-creation.
Jay Cee: Like Jesus, we will open wide all that has been closed about us, and we will live compassionate lives, for it is through living as Jesus lived, that we awaken to your Spirit within, moving us to glorify You, at this time and all ways.
Amen.
Let us pray as Jesus taught us: Linda
(a Celtic adaptation of the Prayer of Jesus by John Philip Newell)
O Holy One beyond all names,
Eternal Wellspring
May Love again rise in us today
With food for every table
Shelter for every family
And reverence for every life.
Forgive us our failings in love
And free us from all falseness
That the light of our souls my shine
And the strengths of our spirits endure
For Earth and all its people
This day, tonight, and forever.
Amen
Communion
Juanita: What we have heard with our ears, we will live with our lives. As we share communion, we will become communion,
both Love’s nourishment and Love’s challenge.
Please receive communion with the words: Love rises in me and you.

BLESSING
Penny: Please raise your hands over one another as we pray for God’s blessing:
May you meet the Risen One
in the ordinary, the humble, the every-day.
May your hearts be filled with wonder
and stirred by the Spirit,
and your tables wide enough for all who hunger.
Go now to tend to the world with tenderness,
to speak truth with courage,
and to follow the Risen One in all things
with hearts open to surprise,
and lives grounded in grace.
Amen.
