We begin in the name of our Creative God, our brother Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. R] And also with you
Kyrie
Our Creator God, we have become alienated from Earth and viewed this planet as disposable, a source of endless resources to be exploited. R] Creator Spirit of God have mercy
Christ Jesus, we have polluted Earth’s air, land and waters. We have turned our greed into global warming. We have devalued human life.
R] Word of God, have mercy
Holy Spirit of God, You are at work in us and among us now in these times, filling us with new knowledge of God’s presence in Earth, calling us to take part in Your New Creation. R] Wisdom of God have mercy
Opening Prayer Nick
Loving God, Yours is the vineyard and the harvest. Yours the kin-dom of justice and peace. You call your people to tend to its growth. Bless the work entrusted to our hands, that we may offer You an abundance of just, sustainable and flourishing works, a rich harvest of peace. We ask this in Jesus’ name. R] Amen
A reading from the book of the prophet Amos (Barbara)
Listen to this, you who live off of the needy and oppress the poor of the land, you who say, “if only the new moon were over
so we could sell our grain, and “when sabbath is over, we will sell our wheat charging higher prices for smaller portions,
that way, we can buy the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals— and even make a profit on the chaff of the wheat!”
YHWH swears by the Pride of Jacob, “I will never forget a single thing you have done.”
The Word of God. R] Thanks be to God
Responsorial Psalm - 145 (vs: Linda)
R] I will bless your name, my God, forever and ever.
I will extol you, my God, my Ruler. Every day I will bless You and will praise Your name forever. R]
Yahweh, You are gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. You are good to all and compassionate toward all Your creatures. R]
Yahweh, You are just in all your ways and loving toward all that you created. You are near to all who call upon You, all who call upon You in truth. R]
A reading from the first letter of Timothy (Pat)
First of all, i urge that prayers be offered for everyone—petitions, intercessions and thanksgivings— and especially for rulers and those in authority, so that we may be able to live godly and reverent lives in peace and quiet. to do this is right, and will please God our savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to reach full knowledge of the truth. for there is only one God, and there is only one mediator between God and humankind—Christ Jesus, who was one of us, and who at the proper time sacrificed himself as a ransom and a testimony for all. Because of this i have been appointed to be a preacher, an apostle, and—this is the truth, now, I’m not lying—a faithful and honest teacher to the Gentiles. Therefore, i want people everywhere to lift their hands up reverently in prayer, without anger or dissension.

Gospel Nick
Jesus said to the disciples, “there was a wealthy landowner who, having received reports of a steward mismanaging the property, summoned the steward and said, ‘what’s this I hear about you? Give me an account of your service, for it’s about to come to an end.’ 3 The steward thought, ‘what will I do next? My employer is going to fire me. I can’t dig ditches, I’m ashamed to go begging. I have it! Here’s a way to make sure that people will take me into their homes when I’m let go.’ “So the steward called in each of the landowner’s debtors. the steward said to the first, ‘how much do you owe my employer?’ The debtor replied, ‘a hundred jars of oil.’ the steward said, ‘take your invoice, sit down quickly and make it fifty.’ To another the steward said, ‘how much do you owe?’ The answer came, ‘a hundred measures of wheat,’ and the steward said, ‘take your invoice and make it eighty.’ “Upon hearing this, the owner gave this devious worker credit for being enterprising! Why? Because the children of this world are more astute in dealing with their own kind than are the children of light. So i tell you: make friends for yourselves through your use of this world’s goods, so that when they fail you, you’ll be welcomed into an eternal home. If you can trust others in little things, you can also trust them in greater, and anyone unjust in a slight matter will also be unjust in a greater. If you can’t be trusted with filthy lucre, who will trust you with true riches? And if you haven’t been trustworthy with someone else’s money, who will give you your own? 13 “Subordinates can’t have two superiors. either they’ll hate the one and love the other or be attentive to the one and despise the other. You can’t worship both God and money.”
The Gospel of Jesus the Christ.
R] Praise be to you, Brother Jesus
Homily
Offering of Gifts
Marita: Blessed are you, God of all creation! Through your goodness we have this bread to offer. Fruit of the Earth, work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
R] Blessed be God forever
Gerry: Blessed are you, God of all creation! Through your goodness we have this wine to offer. Fruit of the vine, work of human hands, it will become for us the cup of life.
R] Blessed be God forever
Nick: Pray sisters and brothers that our gifts may be acceptable and pleasing to our loving God.
R] May God accept this offering from our hands for the praise and glory of God’s name. For our good and the good of all God’s holy people.
Prayer over the Gifts
Karla: Loving and gracious God, all that we have are gifts from You. Receive these gifts of bread and wine, our energies, our hopes and our commitments to return our love to you through our care for and sharing of creation with grateful and generous hearts. Grant this in the name of Jesus, the Christ. R] Amen
Nick: May God be with you R] And also with you
Nick: Lift up your hearts! R] We lift them up to the Lord
Nick: Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
R] It is right and just.
Linda: Wise and faithful God, you have birthed us in goodness, gifted us with life and cherished us in love. In the heart of our being, your Spirit dwells; a Spirit of courage and vision, a Spirit of wisdom and truth.
Teresa U Sending among us Jesus, our Savior, you birth afresh in our world the power of Sophia-Wisdom, and in the gift of the Spirit, your creative goodness blooms anew amid the variety and wonder of life.
Penny: In the power of that same Spirit, we lift our hearts in prayer, invoking anew the gift of wisdom and enlightenment, that we may continue to praise and thank you, in union with all who sing the ancient hymn of praise:

Patti: We give thanks for the wonderful gift of reflective awareness that allows us to recognize and name the presence of a Creator Spirit beyond all imagining in our universe.
Jay Cee: Everything we have, everything we see, everything we do, everyone we love and everyone who loves us reveals this sustaining presence and our total dependence on it.
Gina: We marvel and wonder at the size and complexity of our universe. We marvel and wonder at the development of life on this planet. We give thanks for the Creative Presence that sustains this life and all that exists. We recognize that human life gives our Creative God a particular way of coming to expression, and that in us the Spirit can sing and dance, speak and write, live and create.
Cathy W: We give thanks for Jesus of Nazareth, who loves us so greatly and taught so clearly and courageously. He was able to set people free from images and religious practices that bound them in fear and a false sense of separation from the Source of all life and from one another.
Nick Through Jesus we have learned how our loving is a sharing in the life of the Spirit. In Jesus we see the Spirit of Life challenging all of us who make Her presence on Earth more visible. We call upon the Holy Spirit to transform our simple gifts of bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus.
Nick: We remember that on the night before he died, Jesus gathered with his friends and family to celebrate the feast of Passover. During the meal, he took bread, he blessed and broke it and shared it with all of them saying:
“Take this all of you and eat it, for this is my body.”
Nick: As the meal was ending, Jesus took a cup of wine, prayed a blessing, and shared it with all of them saying: “Take this, all of you, and drink, for this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant, it will be poured out for you and for all. Do this in memory of me.”
Cathy W: We take this bread and eat it, mindful of the Spirit at work in our lives, in the ordinary, in the everyday and in our desire to love as generously as Jesus did. Likewise, we drink now, mindful of our bonding with Jesus and all people through the Spirit at work in our lives.
Therese: We pray for all who allow the mind and heart and spirit of Jesus to motivate their actions. We pray that Christian leadership may be open and affirming, creative and challenging. We pray that all Christians might better recognize, acknowledge, and acclaim the Spirit’s presence in all people, at all times, in all places.
Gina: For ourselves, gathered together in community, we ask the grace to be who and what we ritualize here: the body of Christ, people committed to allowing the Spirit to move freely in our lives. We are grateful for the giftedness of each person here. We are grateful for who we are for each other. May we truly be Eucharist in all we do.
All: Through Christ, with Christ and in Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory and honor is yours, O God, forever and ever
R] AMEN. ALLELUA. AMEN
Cathy P: Eternal Spirit, Earth Maker, pain bearer, Life -Giver, Source of all that is and that shall be, Mother and Father of us all, Loving God in whom is heaven: The hallowing of Your name echo throughout the universe! The way of Your justice be followed by the peoples of the world. Your heavenly will be done by all created beings! Your commonwealth of peace and freedom sustain our hope and come upon Earth.
Karen: With the bread we need for today, feed us. In the hurts we absorb from one another forgive us. In times of temptation and stress, strengthen us. From trials to great to endure, spare us. From the grip of all that is evil, free us. For you reign in the glory of the power that is love. Amen
Penny: Behold, this is the Lamb of God who calls us to rejoice in God’s goodness and follow Jesus in faithful discipleship. Here and now he gives us food and drink for the journey. How blessed are we who are called to the table of our God!
All: Jesus, you make us worthy to receive you. By your word we are healed.

Blessing:
Please extend your hands and pray our blessing together.
Nick: May the Divine bless us with discomfort at easy answers, social media half-truths and superficial relationships.
May our Pilgrim God nudge us toward new places, new adventures and new friends so that we may share the refreshment of our ever-surprising God of love.
